Diamond colour is rated on a scale from D (colourless) to Z (obviously yellow or brownish).

Unless you are a diamond expert you will probably not be able to tell the difference between diamonds which are colour graded D-I unless you are comparing diamonds side by side.

Diamonds with higher colour grades are rare and often command a premium price.

However, colour is largely a matter of personal preference and while some seek a near colourless diamond, others prefer a trace of colour.
